After a short lesson on landscape art, our PA moms and daughters spent the evening using watercolor and sharpies to create their own piece of art! This was one of our auction items at the art show!

This year's Beautifully Made Art Show and Auction was a huge success! What an amazing way to honor our student's work! And thank you to Margaret Owen for allowing us to showcase your "Oranges and Limes". It's that time of the year again. Placer Academy is elbow deep in paint, clay and paper mache. Students across all grade levels have had the opportunity to learn about Margaret Owen's Oranges and Limes as well as recreate their own version of this piece. They have also spent time with docents learning various elements of art and producing pieces that will be showcased at the art show. Some of the art will be auctioned off, while other pieces will return home with the students at the end of the show. There will also be many different items auctioned off to support the arts program- including a weekend in Tahoe, Giants tickets, art classes, jewelry, and items created by makers from around the area. We encourage everyone to join us!
Calling All Placer Academy Artists:
As we prepare for this year's Beautifully Made Art Show and Auction, we are starting things off with a contest for our little artists. Students are able to recreate our inspiration piece, "Oranges and Limes", by Margaret Owen (below) using whatever medium they choose. Paper and instructions for the contest are located in the front office. All entries are due January 28th. Winners will be featured on our thank you cards, and will even get a set of their own!! Talk to your children and encourage them to participate. |
